Sudbury Arts Centre and Sudbury Climate Voices invite you to a free screening of The People’s Emergency Briefing.
Presented by Chris Packham, the film brings together some of the UK’s leading experts to explain the risks posed by climate change and the loss of nature. It also looks at practical solutions that could help us build a more resilient future.
Following Suffolk’s record-breaking summer heatwave, many people are considering how extreme weather is already affecting our communities, farmland, and natural environment. These issues can feel overwhelming, but understanding the challenges can help us decide what action we can take, both individually and together.
After the screening, there will be a facilitated discussion. Local residents will be able to share their thoughts, ask questions, and consider what resilience could mean for Sudbury and the surrounding area.
The aim is for people to leave feeling better informed and ready to continue the conversation with friends, family, neighbours, and colleagues. Small actions and conversations can have a wider impact.
Sudbury Climate Voices is a small group of local residents who have come together to arrange this screening. Everyone is welcome, so please consider inviting a neighbour, friend, or colleague.
Tickets are free, but advance booking is essential. Tickets can be booked online or in person at Sudbury Arts Centre.
The Arts Centre is providing the venue free of charge and is not receiving a hire fee or payment for the screening. Donations are welcome and will help support the venue.
Please note that, due to some of the themes covered in the film, the screening is suitable for people aged 16 and over.
Doors open at 6.30pm. The screening begins at 7pm.
