Scarlet House, on Westward Road in Ebley, is inviting people to revisit traditions from Christmas past by joining residents and team members on Saturday 13th December at 2.30pm–4.30pm.
The event is part of Care UK’s Step into Christmas initiative, which aims to rekindle festive customs that residents remember from their childhood by reliving them and sharing them with the local community.
On the day, Scarlet House will be hosting its own 1950s-themed Christmas fair, adorned with traditional decorations such as paper chains.
Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase homemade decorations and personalised gifts at various craft stalls.
A resident at Scarlet House, said: “I’m really looking forward to the Christmas event. It brings back all the old traditions I grew up with, the music, the smell of mince pies, and seeing everyone together. It makes the place feel alive, like the Christmases I remember from years ago.”
Adrian Boldog, Home Manager at Scarlet House, said: “Christmas is such a special time of year and this event allows us to honour memories from residents’ childhoods, bringing them to life once again.
“This is also a wonderful opportunity to unite the community, celebrate the season and pass on traditions that may otherwise be forgotten.
“We’d like to encourage local people to join us to celebrate the festive season and bring the memories of Christmas past to Stroud.”
