The Diamond Jubilee

Unless you have been living in solitary confinement for the last few months you will know that this year is the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

The Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elixabeth II is the international celebration marking the 60th anniversary of the accession of the Queen to the throne.

Depending on your point of view the Queen is either an expensive waste of money, who by pure accident of birth is held in high esteem, or she is an integral part of the country's history and culture who attracts thousands of tourists to the country each year.

Whichever of these opposing views you take, one thing that can't be argued is the way in which the Queen always conducts herself with dignity and regality. Whilst over the sixty year period various members of her family, her government and a number of high profile people have all been less than dignified in their actions and words, the Queen has never waivered.

So whatever your feelings are about The Queen take time to celebrate one woman's dedication to her duty and country.
