In the days of doom and gloom reference the economy, it's good to know that there are still some business successes, both nationally and in the Stratford upon Avon area.
Indeed, on Tuesday one of our clients told us of a 40% increase in sales this year over last. This particular business has achieved this not just through becoming one of our clients, but by being proactive and forward thinking and always trying something different. They recognise that people can choose where to spend their money.
On Friday we had a meeting with a potential client who showed the same awareness in driving his business forward. His objective is to grow his business over the next few years and to do this he recognises that he needs to try new, different and innovative approaches - whether they be in marketing in a new way, networking in a productive manner or rebranding.
He said that there are too many businesses that suffer from the "Stratford Shoe Shop" mentality (a phrase that another one of our clients has used). In essence this is a business that isn't gaining any new custom but does not try anything different to change this. They open their doors, sit there and wait for custom to come to them. This applies to all businesses, not shoe shops specifically, but I'm sure we can all see the analogy.
So if you own or manage a business, are you forward thinking and proactive, or are you suffering from the Stratford Shoe Shop Syndrome? If you are the former, then contact us. If you are the latter then good luck!
We have a real passion for the Stratford area which we believe is superb and the businesses within it.
At 'the best of' we are looking for the best local businesses - from recommendations from local people...
