Motor industry experts are warning drivers now to leave their vehicles unattended whilst the engine warms up despite the temptation to go back into the warm.

During the freezing cold weather theives are increasing targetting cars left unattended in this way.

During the last week of the cold weather 4 cars were stolen this way in Greater Manchester alone. Theives of this nature are know as Ice Bandits and are on the prowl for any vehicles with the keys left in the ignition.

LEaving your vehicle with the keys in the ignition could affect your claim on insurance as this could be seen as not taking reasonable care if your car is stolen in this way.

So the advice is to stay with your vehicle whist it warms up despite the temptation to get back in the warm.
