A make over and a new menu

You may be aware that Cafe Rouge in Sheep Street, Stratford has had a make over and is offering a brand new menu.

We thought we would try it last night, and would like to share our thoughts with you.

The first thing that we noticed were the friendly, attentive staff.  We were offered a choice of table, either in the window or further back in the restaurant.   There is a pleasant outdoor eating area - unfortunately it was raining, so we'll just have to come back another time!

Our waitress Maria, was very knowledgeable about the menu, and advised us of her favourite dishes.

I started with Crevettes - king prawns in a garlic and chilli butter, although I also sampled my companion's Croquettes de Canard.  It is safe to say I would have a hard time choosing between them on a future visit!

The chicken which I ordered for my main course was very moist, and the beef bourginon for my companion was very well cooked.

Perhaps my favourite course was dessert though - a trio of desserts (pictured) - yummy!   Not a fan of desserts, my companion plumped for the cheese board - and this certainly didn't disappoint either.

The menu was reasonably priced for the Stratford area and had a wide range of dishes, so there is something to suit everyone.

We would thoroughly recommend this new look restaurant if you haven't tried it since the revamp.

Enjoy!
