The principal string players of the English Symphony Orchestra present an intimate chamber music programme featuring three masterpieces for string ensemble by Strauss, Mozart, and Brahms.

The concert opens with the radiant Sextet from Richard Strauss’s opera Capriccio, a work of refined Romantic elegance. Mozart’s deeply expressive String Quintet in G minor, K.516, follows, combining dramatic intensity with profound emotional depth.
The programme concludes with Brahms’s String Sextet No. 2 in G major, Op.36, a richly textured and expansive work that showcases the composer’s warm melodic writing and intricate interplay between the strings.
