The popular south London food market and events space has unveiled details of ‘The Big E&C NYE Party’, a multi-area New Year’s Eve event taking place on Wednesday 31 December from 7pm until 2am. The celebration will see the entire market transformed into a single, immersive party destination, combining music, food and drink across several distinct zones.
According to organisers, the event is designed to cater to a wide range of tastes, with guests able to move freely throughout the venue and choose between four different entertainment areas, each offering its own musical style and atmosphere.
In the main Piazza, Club de Fromage will headline the night, bringing its well-known pop-focused party format to the venue. The area will feature a mix of throwback anthems, chart favourites and well-loved singalong tracks, providing a high-energy centrepiece for the evening’s celebrations.
The German Kraft Bar will host ‘Urban Festive’, presented by About Last Night. This zone will focus on urban, R&B and hip-hop sounds, with DJs and live musicians performing throughout the night. The programming aims to deliver a contemporary club-style experience within the wider New Year’s Eve event.
Disco and funk fans will be catered for in the Egg & Keg Room, which will be taken over by House of Disco. The space will feature classic disco tracks and groove-led music, creating a late-night dancefloor atmosphere filled with glitter and retro-inspired energy.
Meanwhile, the Temple of Art and Music will offer a more interactive option, hosting a karaoke area for guests keen to take to the microphone.
Those with tickets will have access to all four entertainment zones, while Mercato Metropolitano’s independent traders will continue serving a wide range of international street food and dishes throughout the evening. Bars across the venue will also remain open late, offering cocktails, wines and craft beers as the countdown to midnight approaches.
Advance tickets for ‘The Big E&C NYE Party’ are priced at £10, with tickets available on the door for £15, subject to availability. The organisers have confirmed that guests without tickets will still be able to enter Mercato Metropolitano on New Year’s Eve to enjoy food and drink, though ticketed access will be required for entry to the entertainment areas and the full New Year’s Eve programme.
Alongside the event announcement, Mercato Metropolitano has sought to reassure visitors, traders and local residents that the Elephant & Castle market remains open and operational. The venue confirmed that its programme of events, independent food businesses and community-led activity will continue into 2026.
Dee Salih, Director of Brand and Marketing at Mercato Metropolitano, said the New Year’s Eve celebration reflects the ethos of the venue and its relationship with the local community.
“We’re delighted to welcome everyone to our Elephant & Castle location for ‘‘The Big E&C NYE Party’ which will be our biggest and best night so far.
“It will bring together everything that is most-loved about our venues – community, music, and great food – we can’t wait to celebrate the start of a new year with our traders, neighbours and visitors from across London. Despite recent incorrect speculation, the market is open, thriving and we have lots more exciting things to look forward to in 2026.”
Mercato Metropolitano Elephant & Castle has become a well-established destination for food, drink and cultural events in south London. The venue is home to a wide range of independent traders and regularly hosts live music, screenings and community-focused initiatives.
