Southend-on-Sea Borough Council serves its population of 164,000 residents, spending about £134m a year and employing 2,500 staff to provide a huge range services and meet the needs of local people.

Council services are provided by four departments covering Children & Learning; Adult & Community Services; Enterprise, Tourism & Environment and Support Services as well as a Policy & Improvement function.

 

Enterprise and Community:

The Enterprise and Community team provides support to businesses across the piste, regardless of size, sector or location in Southend. We hold quarterly business briefings as well as a number of other events, initiatives and projects. We also seek to engage and empower local communities celebrating all the good things residents bring to the communities they live, work and play in.
