A care home in Slough is inviting the local community to its dementia support and friendship café.

On the last Wednesday of every month from 10.30am–12pm, Care UK’s Oak House, on Forest Close off Wexham Road, will be opening its doors to those living with dementia and their loved ones.

During the sessions, visitors to the home will have the opportunity to connect with like-minded people and bond over shared experiences.

The friendly team will also be on hand to provide helpful advice, offer a dementia guide and signpost families to other relevant services within the community.

Guests can enjoy good company, share experiences, tuck into freshly baked cakes and learn more about the care and lifestyles on offer at the home.

Bozena Szczepaniak, Home Manager at Oak House, said: “We are dedicated to making a positive difference in our community, and we believe no one should ever feel alone.

“Creating strong support networks is vital, with our dementia café designed to do just that by offering a welcoming space where people can relax, connect and enjoy each other’s company.

“We’re excited to open our doors, meet new faces and share conversations over a cup of tea and a slice of cake.”

Oak House has been designed to deliver the very best standards in full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. There is plenty of space for relaxation and recreation, with facilities including a cinema room, café and hair and beauty salon.
