Myself and my husband had always considered our 9 year old daughter to be a bright and capable student yet when it came to mathematics she struggled. Whilst she comprehended the basics of maths, she failed to grasp the nettle of methods that were being taught to her and became easily confused and frustrated. She lacked so much confidence that she became reluctant to participate in the classroom for fear that she would give the wrong answer. She did not like maths!. Both her teachers and we her parents felt as thought this was impeding her chances of passing the 11+ exam. A grammar school was her preferred choice and she was certainly more than capable of handling the workload apart form the maths. We all felt she would benefit from having private tuition. Some of the parents at the school recommended Peter Gruitt to us as they themselves had seen the positive impact his teaching had upon their children. We employed Peter’s services in October 2011.
