The proceedings will commence at 3pm with a short procession along Market Street in Whitworth, from the corner of Market Street and Tong Lane to the Riverside (Civic Hall). The procession will be led by the Whitworth Vale and Healey Brass Band and will feature members of the town’s uniformed organisations, other civic dignitaries, friends and family of the Mayor and Mayoress and members of the public.
A service will then take place at 3.30pm at the Riverside, led by Rev Lyn Woodall of St John’s and St Bartholomew’s churches, in her capacity as Councillor Barnes’ Mayoral Chaplain. Light refreshments will be served post-service.
