Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team - Buy a Brick Campaign

The Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team is part of the mountain rescue service for England and Wales. We provide mountain and moorland search and rescue services for approximately 350 square miles in the Western Pennines and Lancashire.

The team is self funding and staffed purely by volunteers. We are called upon to help the emergency services in every aspect of their work from theLockerbie disaster to the Grayrigg rail crash, not to mention the floods in Cumbria.

We have been based in Haslingden, in an old engineering works, since 1972. At that time we attended about eight call outs a year, over the last twelve months we attended 183 call outs. The team has struggled to operate within our existing facilities over the last few years and it is now time we moved.

We need to raise funds to build a new Mountain Rescue Base and with your contribution to the Buy a Brick Campaign you will be helping your local mountain rescue team achieve this.

Your details can be entered into the BIG BUILD BOOK keeping a record for the future of whom and how this was achieved.

Please send your Buy a Brick Campaign entry to John Parish, Rossendale & Pendle MRT, 46 Clegg Street, Haslingden, Rossendale, Lancs BB4 5LW.

Each Brick will cost £1.20 and please indicate if you would like your details entering in the Big Build Book
