The Mayor of Whitworth, Councillor Lynda Barnes, invites you to dust off your blue suede shoes, slip on your bobby socks and join her for a charity fundraising evening of 1950s and 1960s themed fun on Saturday 10 October at the Riverside, Whitworth.

The greatest hits of the era promise to get your toes tapping and your hips shaking as you twist and shout until the early hours!

The Riverside will be decked out in 1950s and 1960s inspired style, and guests are encouraged to come in fancy dress reminiscent of the era.  Entertainment will be provided by top live music act The Roadrunnerz, and the DJ is under strict instructions to play all the top tunes from the hit parade and nothing else.  There’ll be a buffet evening meal, and an opportunity to bag yourself some raffle prizes and bump up the charity coffers on the night.   Doors open at 7pm and the evening will draw to a close at 12.30am.

Tickets cost £15 each, and all the evening’s proceeds will go to the Mayor’s Charity Fund.  At the end of the Mayor’s year in office next May, the funds will be distributed to charities and organisations supporting the Whitworth community, with a particular focus on the town’s young people.

So if early rock n roll and the hits of the 50s and 60s get you All Shook Up, come on down to the Riverside and burn up the dancefloor!

Tickets cost £15 and should be booked in advance; they are available now from Whitworth Town Council on 01706 852018 / email info@whitworth.gov.uk.  Doors open at 7pm on the night and last orders are at 12.30am.
