All Change at Rossendale United FC, Dark Lane

From today Rossendale United will see a complete change in the group of people working behind the scenes to support the club, as a consequence of the volunteer backroom team of Steve Hobson, David Lunn, David Hancock and Wendy Ennis resigning their positions.

Football Chairman Steve Hobson said, ‘Those of us behind the scenes have fought tooth and nail, for the past two seasons, to keep the club going. Our supporters know why we have resigned and I am not prepared to go into the reasons publicly. My family, friends and I have given our all to the club for many years now and we have come to a point where someone else needs to ‘pick up the baton and run’. We wish the club well and hope that owner Andrew Connolly can find the right people to take the club further’

David Hancock said, ‘We have a marvellous team of people behind the scenes at Dark Lane who have gone far beyond anything that might have been required of them. We have a good community programme and were optimistic for the future. The bottom line is we have done all we can do and it is time for the club owner to look to somebody else to deal with the running of his business interest.’
