THE BARNES CHOIR - DURUFLÉ’S REQUIEM
Join The Barnes Choir for our Summer Concert on Saturday, 27th June 2026 at 7.30pm at All Saints Church in East Sheen Avenue SW14 8AX.
Our main piece for the evening will be Duruflé’s contemplative and ethereal Requiem which he composed in 1947 in memory of his father; and we’ve paired this with Cecilia McDowall’s Ave Maris Stella, two new pieces by Russell Hepplewhite which you might not have heard before - Endless Time(text by Rabindranath Tagore) & Leaving (Pam Ayres), plus Arvo Pärt‘s instrumental piece - Spiegel im Spiegel.
We’ll be conducted by our Musical Director Julian Collings with soloists Mezzo Judy Louie Brown and Baritone Jon Stainsby, plus Instrumentalists Rebecca Hepplewhite - Cello, and Peter Jaekel - Piano/Organ.
