With its golden sand beach and clear crystal water, Barafundle bay is widely known as one of the best beaches in the United Kingdom, some have even compared it to the Caribbean beach. Barafundle Bay is owned by the National Trust and is part of the South Pembrokeshire Heritage Coast and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The beach is the winner of both the Seaside Award (Rural) and the Green Coast Award. There is no lifeguard service on the beach. Dogs are allowed on the beach. The beach is great for bathing, swimming and walking.
Parking
A car park is located about half a mile from the beach at Stackpole Quay. Due to the large amount of steps that people have to walk up and down on, it is unsuitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.
Facilities
Because Barafundle Bay is an isolated beach, there are no facilities on the beach itself. There is a cafe and also toilets at Stackpole Quay. Also located not far from the beach is the Stackpole Village, which is home to the award winning The Stackpole Inn, which serves delicious food and drink.
