We are pleased to present a new collection of contemporary paintings by Henrietta Dubrey, on view this January.

Henrietta Dubrey’s paintings offer autobiographical deconstructions of lived experience and the world around her. Working between abstraction and figuration, her compositions are instantly recognisable for their bold lines, dynamic shapes, and layered surfaces that form what she describes as a “gestural web.” Influenced by childhood holidays in Cornwall, Dubrey was drawn to St Ives for its rich artistic heritage and the legacy of the middle-generation St Ives artists, including Roger Hilton and Terry Frost.

This new body of work presents emotionally charged landscapes, with forms and structures echoing the Cornish coastline. Through a vibrant palette and expressive brushwork, Dubrey evokes place, memory, and sensation, creating paintings that balance physical geography with inner experience.

Henrietta Dubrey studied at Wimbledon School of Art, Byam Shaw School of Art, and the Royal Academy Schools. She has exhibited internationally, with frequent participation in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, and has shown extensively in galleries across the UK. Dubrey lives and works in St Ives, Cornwall.
