The home will open its doors to families and neighbours for a food festival, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection.
Visitors to Tall Trees Glade, on Mile End Road, can look forward to a special “farm to fork” celebration on Friday 7th August at 1pm-3pm. The event will feature dishes made entirely from ingredients sourced from nearby farms, producers, and artisans.
Guests will have the chance to sample a selection of seasonal dishes inspired by residents’ favourite flavours, while learning more about the journey food takes from local growers to the plate.
The events are part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which will see all Care UK homes host foodie-themed celebrations and share what life in a care home is really like.
Each festival will showcase sustainable, community-focused initiatives while celebrating the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipes and traditional dishes to seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.
