On Friday 7th August from 3pm–5pm, Care UK’s Millers Grange will open its doors to families and neighbours for their ‘Taste of our Home’ event, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection.   Visitors to the Curbridge Road home can discover recipes that tell a story, viewing a cookbook that has been lovingly created by the residents themselves. The book brings together their favourite dishes, whether it’s meals they loved growing up, family recipes passed down through generations or comforting foods that bring back treasured memories.   While viewing the cookbook, guests can tuck into a delicious afternoon tea, prepared by the home’s head chef.   The event is part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which will see Care UK homes across the country host foodie-themed celebrations and showcase what life in a care home is really like.   Each festival will offer sustainable, community-focused activities while championing the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipes to seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.   Rachel Scurr, Home Manager at Millers Grange, said: “We’re delighted to be showcasing our very own cookbook!
