If you're stuck for something to do with the kids over the next two weeks, we've found some great events:

 

Woolyknit - Children’s Craft Workshops

Where: Wooly Knit Shop
When: Monday 10th August, 10:00am until 2:00pm

Childrens Craft Workshops for Ages 5+ at Woolyknit. Booking essential. 10-11am or 12-1pm. £6 per child.

 

Holiday Fun at Gallery Oldham

Where: Gallery Oldham
When: Mon 10 and Wed 12 August, 1pm to 4pm

Face painting and craft activities at each session. Most suitable for ages 4–10 years. Great holiday fun.

 

Ready! Steggy! Go! 

Where: Spindles Shopping Centre
When: Saturday 15th August

Ready Skeggy Go - With life like animatronic models you wouldn't be far from believing they are not real.  There will be experts at hand to answer any Dino related questions. There will also be appearances from the Stegosaurus at 12pm, 2pm & 3pm. Face painting from 10am-4pm. 

 

Dr Who Day 

Where: Oldham Library
When: Saturday 15th August, 10:00am until 3:00pm

A fantastic, fun filled day where the Oldham library is visited by Doctor Who characters such as The Cybermen, Daleks, Ood, and many more

 

Small Furries Workshop

Where: Pets at Home, Oldham
When: 15th, 20th, 23rd, 27th and 30th August

Fantastic interactive workshops to get kids up close and personal to learn about the small furry friends that they have in-store, and give a really ‘hands-on’ approach to pet care. 

 

Saddleworth Rushcart Festival

Where: Saddleworth
When: 22nd and 23rd August. Starting at approximately 10.15am Saturday at Uppermill Square taking place at various Saddleworth locations until 6pm. Sunday 10am uppermill Square until 12 noon.

The Rushcart is pulled around the Saddleworth villages by over 150 Morris Men from all over the UK and sometimes from abroad. On Sunday the Rushcart is taken to St Chad’s Church above Uppermill where the top is dismantled and in line with tradition the rushes are mixed with fragrant herbs and flowers and then symbolically spread in the aisles. 

 

Duck Race and Fun Day

Where: Chadderton Hall Park
When: Saturday 22nd August, 12:00pm until 3:00pm

On Saturday the 22nd of August 2015, thousands of rubber ducks will be released into the River Irk in Chadderton Hall Park, each with the chance of winning their owner a fabulous prize!  There will also be live performances and music, inflatables, carnival stalls, food, drink, and much more.

 

Shaun the Sheep Movie (U)

Where: Gallery Oldham
When: Saturday 22nd August, 2:00pm until 4:00pm

Flock down to Gallery Oldham and join them for Shaun's movie debut. The farmyard hero and the gang head to the Big City for a fun-packed adventure… with The Farmer hot on their heels! TICKETS: £3 – includes a goodie bag with drink and popcorn for all kids!
