    NR4 7SW
  • Thursday 6th August 2:30pm until 4:00pm
With festival season officially under way, a care home in Norwich is welcoming its local community for a fun-filled day of food and celebration.

On Thursday 6th August, from 2.30-4pm, Care UK’s Cavell Court will open its doors to families and neighbours for a food festival, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection.

The home will be hosting a special festival, complete with craft stations to allow visitors to pot their own fresh herbs, as well as live entertainment from Elvis. In addition, all proceeds from the event will be donated to Norwich Food Bank.

The events are part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which will see all Care UK homes host foodie-themed celebrations and share what life in a care home is really like.

Each festival will showcase sustainable, community-focused initiatives while celebrating the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipes and traditional dishes to seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.

Each home offers full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. The homes incorporate plenty of space for hobby and leisure activities, while the layout of the buildings are configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
