Over 80 residents are ready to make your acquaintance at Redwings Aylsham in Norfolk.

Since forming in 1984, Redwings now cares for over 1,500 rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules at its centres across the country – which includes Redwings Aylsham, a Visit England Quality Assured Visitor Attraction. Everything Redwings does is 100% funded by the public.

Lovable donkey duo Wiggins and Wacko, real-life ‘Black Beauty’ Maya and resident troublemakers, the Gangsters, are just some of the rescued residents ready to make your acquaintance. After making plenty of new four-legged friends, you can also enjoy a relaxing stroll around the centre’s peaceful wildlife walks – perfect for keen ramblers and dog walkers! Hot drinks and warm lunches are available from Gulliver’s Café, and our gift shop is open with a wide range of souvenirs to browse, with all proceeds supporting the hundreds of rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules in Redwings’ care. You can also learn about horses and even try to run a rescue in our education centre Red’s Shed!

Having met the centre’s lovable residents, you might like to sponsor one of the charity’s adorable Adoption Stars. Available from just £2 a month, you can adopt for yourself or as a thoughtful gift for a friend or loved one. Please ask a staff member about this during your visit and they will be happy to assist you. Most paddocks are fully accessible, although some pathways may be difficult to navigate in adverse weather conditions. The wildlife walks are also primarily grass track. There is a fully accessible purpose-built visitor reception and stable facility. There are two Blue Badge parking spaces.

Redwings Aylsham is open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday all year round, 10am to 4pm (closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays). Paddocks close at 3.30pm.

Please check our website for the most up to date opening information - https://www.redwings.org.uk/visit/aylsham

Entry and parking are free, but donations of all sizes can really support the charity’s work if you would like to make one. Dogs on leads are welcome.
