Sir Tom Jones and Wet Wet Wet unveiled as first two acts for Newmarket Nights 2014

Every year Newmarket Racecourses becomes more than just a racing aficianado's dream - over seven Fridays throughout summer, Adnams Newmarket Nights combines horse racing with chart-topping hits!

Now in its 28th year, Newmarket Nights has become known as the ultimate racing and music event in the UK. In 2013, the July Course welcome Meat Loaf, Madness, Kaiser Chiefs, Simple Minds, Labrinth and Keane.

This year, the organisers have unveiled its first two acts - Wet Wet Wet and Sir Tom Jones - signalling that this year's Newmarket Nights will be just as amazing as previous years.

Wet Wet Wet

Formed in the 1980s, Wet Wet Wet is a Scottish band that has hits such as Beatles cover, 'With a Little Help from my Friends', 'Sweet Surrender', 'Goodnight Girl' and their biggest hit, 'Love is All Around', which topped the charts in 1994 for a massive fifteen weeks.

Sir Tom Jones

What can we say about Sir Tom!? Having had thirty-six top 40 hits from the mid-60s onwards, Sir Tom Jones OBE's notable songs include 'It's Not Unusual', 'Delilah', 'Kiss' and 'Sex Bomb'.

Now judge for BBC 1's The Voice, he has sung nearly every form of popular music and sold more than 10 million records worldwide. 

Newmarket Nights

Adnams Newmarket Nights 2014 will be taking place on Friday 20th June, Friday 27th June, Friday 18th July, Friday 25th July, Friday 1st August, Friday 8th August and Friday 15th August.

More acts will be confirmed over the winter months.

You will enjoy a few hours of horse racing, with the chance for a flutter and general wander around the venue. Concerts tend to start approximately 15-20 minutes after the last race although this may change later in the summer.

Pre-booking is recommended due to the popularity of Newmarket Nights - many nights sell out in advance.

Children aged 5 and over must have an entry ticket. There are a limited amount of reduced-price children's tickets available but these do tend to seel out quickly, so don't delay.
