Budget airline, Ryanair has revealed plans to reduce its winter flights from Stansted by up to 16 percent in a move to reduce its seasonal capacity across the UK as a whole.

The cutbacks, which have been introduced to counteract the increase in airport departure tax, include proposals to handle 1.5 million less passengers via Stansted.

Ryanair Cheif Executive, Micheal O’Leary, commented: "Sadly, UK traffic and tourism continues to collapse while Ryanair continues to grow rapidly in those countries which welcome tourists instead of taxing them.”
