The good news is the Newmarket Town council may be able to obtain money they need to re-vamp the Town Hall in the Hight Street. The council are planning to spend about £1.2 million to update and improve the building. the council may be able to borrow up to £1 million from the Public Works Load Board.
The hall which is coming up to it's 100th birthday is a busy venue. The hall hosts the indoor market, meetings and a variety of sports activities and of course The Battle of the Bands!
