A rare Newmarket five pound note produced in the early 1900's was sold for £320 at auction in London yesterday.

Spin in Bloomsbury valued the extremely rare Edwardian black and white note featuring the words 'Newmarket Bank' at between £250 to £350, and was snapped up by a mystery bidder for three hundred and twenty.

The note, which was produced by Newmarket Bank in May 1902, was in excellent condition and believed to be one of the last of its kind still in existence.
