If you have, like me, spent the last few months looking longingly into your back garden waiting for a moment of dryness or even a snippet of sunshine to be able to give your perennials some TLC, then you will have welcomed the start of Spring.

Daffodils are of course a favourite and synonymous of warmer times, but there are even more of some beautiful favourites that can be planted in March and will flourish provided the frost keeps at bay, including the Crocus, Snowdrop, Tulips and Lilies and the stunning Cherry Blossom. If you are looking to take the 'Good Life' route this year and try out for your own fruit and vegetables, then now is the time to get your tomatoes, carrots and fruit trees in so you can see the fruits of your labour sooner rather than later!

If you are looking for a more drastic make over in your Newmarket garden this year, you may wish to look into landscape gardening, which can provide the environment to grow delightful flowers such as sweet pea and Bergenia to create a little variation in your green haven. If you have not done so already you could appreciate all the hard work you have achieved in your garden from a new summer house or conservatory to while away the hours! thebestof Newmarket is proud to have a selection of recommended garden specialists on our Business Directory, just waiting for your call.

Whatever you decide to do, gardening can be great for the soul and good exercise! You don’t need to be Alan Titchmarsh either; just use a little imagination and let the plants do the talking!
