A Newmarket based community project has been nominated for the Pride of Forest Heath Awards following its successful work in the local area.
Music Builds Communities offers local people of all ages the chance to share music within their local area and build new social circles and community relations.
Offering a range of weekly musical activities across Newmarket such as choir singing and guitar lessons, most events take place at Exning Community and Church Hall off Ducks Lane in north Newmarket.
Susan Allison, Project Director for Music Builds Communities, commented: “We have ages from 18 months to 70+ and the project has reached over 50 people in all. It has been really enjoyable watching the groups form and grow in confidence.”
