A Death Cafe is an informal group conversation about all things connected to end of life, death, grief and bereavement. There is no set agenda. The conversation ebbs and flows depending on who comes along and what they choose to share.
I am an End of Life Doula and as host I will make sure everyone feels welcome and comfortable and will help to get the conversation started. I am there to answer any questions and for moral support for anyone who feels a bit nervous about coming along.
Is it morbid and miserable? Absolutely not.
Conversations about death are a bit taboo in our society, so it can feel really liberating to be in a space where these conversations can happen.
Talking about the end of life doesn't 'tempt fate'. In fact, it can help us to focus on what matters most to us in life, and can be very life-affirming.
So if you've lingered over this post and you're not sure whether to book a ticket, don't over-think it! Just get yourself registered to attend and come and give it a try.
It is important to know that this is not grief or bereavement counselling. It is the opportunity to have open conversations about topics that people might not be able to talk to about with anyone else.
It is free to attend but places need to be booked in advance on Eventbrite at
