There is an abundacne of local seasonal Christmas activity planned for the coming few weeks in the lead up to Christmas. Here at thebestofnewbury we have pulled together details of these events to provide a guide to whats on in and around Newbury and the West Berksire area over the coming weeks.

So check this Blog page regualry for updates, but here are our highlights of some of the best local events:

Family Entertainment:

Dec 11th:

Ice Sculptures in Newbury: Renowned ice sculpturers Ben Hamilton and his team carve an ice statue of Jack of Newbury. Enjoy Christmas music from local band and mince pies as this historic figure takes shape!

Dec 12th:

Christmas Lantern Procession: As light falls, join the magical procession from Northbrook Street into The Market Place, Newbury.

Santa Trips - On the Rose of Hungerford: Meet Santa on a canal boat trip in Hungerford. Pre Booking required. (also on Dec 18th)

Dec 14th:

Father Christmas Visits the Watermill: After a ride on Father Christmas' horse-drawn sleigh, children can enjoy table-top activities, share their Christmas letters and lists with Father Christmas. Refeshments available.

Dec 15th:

Newbury Racecourse, Christmas Party Day: Celebrate Christmas with friends, family or colleagues, at this really fun race day.

Spa Morning at Eddie Catz: Take a break from Xmas shopping and book a beauty treatment at the pop up beauty bar on this Spa morning at Eddie Catz in Newbury and relax whilst the kids play!

Dec 16th -18th:

Comedy Curry Night At Greenham Arts: Enjoy an alternative Christmas party with your work colleagues with New Greenham Arts and New Greenham Tandoori. Enjoy a buffet curry before or after two stand-up acts.

Dec 18th:

Meet the Christmas Donkeys in Market Place: Come and see the donkeys beside the manger and enjoy Christmas carols, mince pies & mulled wine or hot chocolate from10am in the Market Place, beside the Christmas tree.

Pantomime & Theatre:

Dec 3rd - Jan 3rd:

Sleeping Beauty at The Newbury Corn Exchange: The team behind the highly successful previous pantos of Puss In Nboots and Aladdin, return with this years slick and highly entertaining production of Sleeping Beauty. 

Dec 16th - 19th:

Cinderella - The Ballet at Arlington Arts:  Following the success of last year's beautiful production of The Nutcracker, Ballet Theatre UK return with an enchanting fairytale production of Cinderalla.

Dec 17th:

Eddie Catz Christmas Panto: A fun filled interactive festive show for young children, packed with song, music and festive fun, as well as a special appearance by Santa Clause. 

Dec 19th:

Major Mustard and his musical 'Box of Delights': An enjoyable, interactive and delightful version of a well known Hans Christian Andersen's tale. A loely treat for young children at the Thatcham Discovery Centre.

Carol Concerts:

Dec 14th:

Mothers Union Carol Concert, Hungerford: Held at St Lawrence Church, Hungerford at 2.30pm.

Dec 19th:

St NIcholas Church, Newbury: Family carol service featuring all your favourites.
