Newbury Gastro Pub The Carnarvon Arms is proud to announce that last night (March 11th 2010) their Head Chef, Justin Brown, won a prestigious Award in the Pie Category competition, which forms parts of the prestigious Great British Pub Food Awards.

Pictured here from the left is Jo Bruce (Pub Chef Editor for the Morning Advertiser), Justin Brown, David Hancock (editor of the Alastair Sawday’s Pubs & Inns Guide) and Paul Charity (Editor for the Morning Advertiser).

Competing against finalists Ben Burdass from The Old Ship in East Sussex and Debbie Nicholls from The Linnet in Trowbridge, Justin took the award with his prize winning dish of venison pie.

In true "masterchef" style Justin also had to produce a desert from a mystery box of ingredients, where he made a delicious apple tart tatin.

Why not try the food and Justin's skills for yourself, by booking a table at The Carnarvon Arms?
