The country's premier Rock & Roll legend Joe Brown comes to the Corn Exchange fresh from two of the best years of his illustrious career, performing two shows on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 May.

The year 2008 marked Joe's 50th year as a professional entertainer and he is undoubtedly one of this country's best loved, enduring, and most acclaimed musicians.  Joe, along with his band, is back by popular demand in another two-hour musical celebration. With a new album More Of The Truth released last year he completed two further sold out UK tours, receiving MOJO magazine's coveted Outstanding Contribution To Music Award and an MBE.

Joe Brown was one of the original Rock & Roll Stars to come out of the UK. One of the first UK session men, his early career highlights include playing guitar with Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, Johnny Cash and other US stars when they came over to Europe.

Joe went on to top the charts with his own records, had The Beatles open shows for him and in a career packed with musical highlights has also presented several national series of the Joe Brown Show on UK TV, two series Rock Show for BBC Radio 2 and finds time to do around 100 live shows a year in the UK.

In 2002 he appeared at the Concert For George to honour the life and memory of his dear friend George Harrison.  The pioneer of British guitarists and undisputed legend of UK rock 'n' roll, he is the man who's inspired nearly everyone from George Harrison to Jeff Beck to Mark Knopfler.

Joe Brown was delighted to have recently received a USA Recording Industry (RIAA) Award in respect of his performance upon the Concert For George DVD in respect of US sales.  The award is now certified as 7 times platinum.  Joe was also recently honoured by the readers of Encore Magazine (a well known trade magazine subscribed to by Industry professionals such as Theatres, Agents, Promoters and Show Producers) with the Outstanding Services to Variety award.  This award recognises outstanding services to variety from both sides of the footlights and is voted for by encore readers.
