I actually lived in the kingfisher when my mum and dad owned it between 1988 and 1992. It was a lovely country pub then, we had the garden turned into a childrems paradise with swings climbing frames etc. The meals were popular and the regulars loved the atmosphere. Sadly my parents decided to give up the self employed avenue in 1992. After this teh pub had numerous owners, too many to count and no one stayed for more than a few months. The pub has gone down hill since then, at one stage i remember it being turned into a mini nightclub - black walls ceilings, disco lights etc, not really suitable for a country pub, needless to say it didnt last long!!! and now look at it, boarded up and up for sale, garden is a mess, and building is looking awful, I hate driving passed it now to see it going to ruin. WHat a waste of what could have been a lovely home or business for someone. I just wish i could afford to buy it and renovate it into a fab family home.

Well myself and my wife were in the area on Sunday 25th May for a local Cycle race and thought we would stay for lunch before heading back to Swindon.
We found the Kingfisher Inn from this site and booked in,and I have to say it was one of the best Sunday lunches we have ever enjoyed in a local pub "and the deserts!!" well excellent .
Highly Recommended.........

On Sunday 24th February we took some friends to the Kingfisher Inn for Sunday Lunch. It was fabulous. David’s Sunday lunches are getting the reputation as one of the best Sunday Lunches around. You have a good choice of starters, this Sunday we had the choice of Lamb, Beef and Pork. I had the beef which was moist and tasted just divine. The gravy, which is so tasty, just compliments the food that is cooked. My son never has gravy at home. The only place that he has gravy is at The Kingfisher. Then you have the desserts. My daughter always goes for something chocolaty; she had the chocolate moose while my son who hardly ever has a dessert always finds room for one at the Kingfisher. If you have never been to the Kingfisher Inn then you must. Mother’s Day is fully booked so if you want a Sunday Lunch that is one of the best in the area then book in advance so you will not be disappointed. Nigel Dudley Owner The Best of Neath.

We moved to Crynant from Bristol in June 2005 and regularly eat out at the Kingfisher. The food that David cooks is more than excellent, in fact it is much better than in any of the restaurants we used to visit in Bristol. The meals are always complemented by the service you get from Elspeth and the others. Our Xmas Day Dinner and New Years Eve meals were exeptional. If you want Gourmet food at everyday prices, then you must make a visit to the Kingfisher. Sue & Craig.

Fine dining at its best. The quality of food that David cooks and presents is just mouth watering. We used to go to the established restaurants down Mumbles but when we discovered The Kingfisher we would rather go there. The quality of food is exceptional and set in a picturesque rural setting. The restaurant is very unique just like having a meal in your own house. Elspeth, Davidʼs wife is the perfect front of house person. She creates the atmosphere of the restaurant and caters to you every need. A must if you have never tried.
