David and Elspeth took over the Kingfisher Inn in Crynant just a few miles from Neath in late August 2005. For the past two and a half years David and Elspeth have built up an excellent reputation for their fine dining restaurant with both locals and customers from further a field. David who runs the Kingfisher Inn is a chef of over thirty experience. David has worked on luxury cruise liners travelling the four corners of the world, to London west end 4 star hotels and fine dining country house hotels. His experienced gained at Bontduu House Hotel (2 Rosettes), Sir Christopher Wrens Hotel Windsor as executive chef and many more established fine dining restaurants, have laid the foundation to give the Kingfisher Inn a reputation as one of the best fine dining restaurants in the Neath and Swansea Valley area. David’s expertise in the kitchen is complimented by Elspeth, whose 30 years of experience at the front of house makes the atmosphere of the bar and restaurant so welcoming with her warm and friendly personality.   • Mondays – closed all day (except bank holidays when we are open all day)

  • Tuesdays – Saturday Open all day for food from lunch time, throughout the day including an evening restaurant starting at 6pm till late

  • Sundays Only – 3 Sittings for the Sunday Carvery at 12, 2pm and 3.30pm. Bar trade only Sunday evenings
