This is a lovely stop for afternoon tea and a break from the lovely shops that are here - not forgetting the memorable maze for the children during the summer months!

Visited today 19th June, ate lunch as I have done numerous times due to family ties to Wistow itself the Brooks family and Newton Harcourt Charlton family and was ok but bacon was only warm and not hot. After finishing lunch returned to cafe to order ice creams, was told at till to wait at ice cream stand stood there for 15 minutes to be ignored by several staff members ! Extremely disappointed and won't be returning In a hurry !

We visit here all the time, living only 15 minutes away, and still never get tired of it. We often come to walk the dogs first, then dine afterwards. The food is gorgeous, the staff delightful and always happy to go the extra mile for you. The surroundings are wonderful, which makes the visit all the more special. They do a lot of special themed evenings too (we've only managed to make one - but that was excellent!).
Once, we were at a private party in Kibworth and were treated to a delightful buffet... then realized it was supplied and served by the staff at Wistow Cafe Bistro ! Their catering is truly superb, something we'd definitely consider for a special event (if we want to be thoroughly spoilt !) I know that you can hire the venue for parties too; what a lovely rural venue that would be ! They also do wedding/birthday cakes cakes. Thank you Wistow for providing us with such a delightful venue to have regular little treats.

I have driven by Wistow so many times over the years and never been in so we remedied that by going in for coffee and cake. It was brilliant!
Great range of cakes and coffees - the Victoria sponge was heavenly - and the coffees were great. My brother had the bacon ciabatta (I may have to do a return visit for that) and it was great all round. Excellent service but it was really busy and the queue was quite long though, in fairness, it was a chilly day so the usual doors had been closed so I don't think it gets normally that crowded.
Great service, choice and food and reasonably priced - it can get really busy so pick your time. We sat in the conservatory and it was a bit cold but there are blankets thoughtfully provided if you need them. I had another coffee instead!!

Beautiful setting, excellent pit stop after a great walk around the wistow, from 2 miles +, very dog friendly, lovely little country shopping area, very popular not surprising, staff were efficient but a smile and lessons in people skills would enhance visits here, lovely food, beautiful atmosphere, well worth a visit

My daughter, Susan Oakes and my son Mark Standley from Wanganui North Island New Zealand used the Wistow Cafe Bistro last Thursday and we all were so pleased with your services. It was one of their father's favourite places to walk his dog so I am sure he would have been very pleased that the wake was held at your excellent cafe.Bistro.
Many thanks Sheila Standley

Cafe was able to change the specified choice of dishes at the last minute when my friend was not able to attend and my spouse joined me. Service was good, staff very pleasant and helpful. Only question I had was, the menu starter said Tuna pasta when in fact we had ham pasta. No problem with the change but could have caused a problem if I was vegetarian or dietary requirements.

We visited here everyday for about a week and a half, as we were working nearby, and thought we would give some business to a local business.
There was 3 of us, having around 3 coffee's a day, and some having food, whether a sandwich or a cake, so between us we were spending £30-40 a day, which in anyone's eyes is a lot of money. We then found out during our second week that, if we ordered before 9.00am you could have a breakfast with a tea for £5.00 as opposed to around £7.50.
So as this seemed more of a reasonable price for a breakfast, the 3 of us had one, along with extra drinks etc. This was on a Friday, and as we had to work the Saturday morning, decided to go for another breakfast, (3 of us again) to be told that the offer only ran Monday to Friday, so we had a word with the ladies/girls working (who were very nice) and they said that as we had been loyal customers for the duration of the job, could have our breakfasts for the discounted price, which was very good of them, and as we were the only customers there, seemed a good deal for all involved.
But then the owner/manager decided, that no we couldn't have this deal, as it was a Saturday. And asked did we still want the breakfasts?
Over the week and a half we would have spent around £220 between the 3 of us on food & hot/cold drinks, all through loyalty to a local business. But to the owner/manager £5.00 a breakfast, wasn't enough, even though the place was empty and at £5.00 I should think there was still a £2.50-3.00 profit.
So as for my review, yes the place is very nice, the staff are lovely, the food is very nice,(but not for the price nice),it's got some great shops and a brilliant garden centre around it, but please do your shopping first, because if you have something to eat and a drink first, you won't have anything left to spend in the shops. And please don't think I am tight, because you couldn't be further from the truth, and if food is nice I will pay the going rate, but not when you are just being over charged because your at a "rural centre" I have been to plenty of garden centres that don't feel they have to empty your pockets.
And as for loyalty, well that's non existent, but then we were dressed in work clothes, and obviously not wealthy, so maybe we're not the type of clientele there after? But we did our bit.

Picture if you will a peaceful rural scene on a bright sunny morning in deepest Leicestershire ( though the city is but a few miles away). In the fields surrounding the cafe sheep are safely grazing, though I did spot the odd cow having a nibble.
The cafe itself is a low slung chalet type building housing a veranda and large dining room. We went at my daughter's invitation for breakfast. This was all you needed for a perfect morning. It was cooked to order and to perfection with enough calories to stave off the pangs of hunger until late evening - or possibly the next morning! We had the full English and full it certainly was! All was delivered to our table cheerfully and efficiently. Now for the bad news. We took advantage of a special April offer of a full breakfast plus toast plus tea or coffee for a fiver! As you'll be reading this in May (hopefully) the deal will be over. Better luck next April!

We held my sisters afternoon tea hen party here and could not have been happier with the service, the food and the warmness of the team.
In the end there were 22 adults for the afternoon tea we were accommodated without the need for room hire charges (although we were given the option to hire the room) which meant more people could afford to come. At £16 a head we had a fantastic menu including quirky requests (brides perogative) and there was more than an enough food with most people taking doggy boxes away!!!!!.
They catered for everyone and when a guest declared they were vegetarian (all the others had been catered for) it was not a problem to them and she was swiftly provided with more food.
Jane and team were fantastic from start to finish so a very big thank you from all of us. I know some of the more local guests will be coming back and for those of us further away we have said about having a hen party reunion!!!!!!!.
Once again I would certainly recommend this and I know from the feedback so would the other guests.

I came across this café by chance as I was walking my dogs in the area. Popped in for some tea and cakes with my husband and was greeted by a lovely waitress. I was unsure at first if they were still open has it was around 5 o clock but they were more than welcoming. The Victoria sponge was delicious, very fresh and tasty, you could definitely tell it was homemade. My husband had a brownie which he said was equally as good. Definitely going to return for lunch one day soon !
