It was our 1st visit today to Wistow. The cafe was very well organised with Covid19 in mind.
We ordered our food and paid then waited in another area. Our order arrived quickly & it was piping hot and well packed with-a napkin too. Our Drinks were also delicious.
Thank you for giving us a lovely time together. We will return soon. ☕️❤️

I used to take my daughters here and there are a few units as shops to its a nice place to go
It’s opposite a church to and at the side of this church are 3 graves
A person who is called Steve priestley said out loud in a bungalow years ago that there are three paupers graves at the side of this church (I don’t know what he meant by it maybe he can explain)
Then as a little girl I came to the lake next to this garden centre with a tadpole net with my younger brother with Steve priestley who he Darren drive his van in the country
We trespassed to use the nets to fish for tadpoles a little going over a small fence to do it
Steve was staring at the water concentrating on it and it was after my grandma had passed away I think he looked concerned and wondering in his mind (and I held his hand I didn’t like to see him sad)
He used to take me out of that bungalow due to arguments taking place (I hope he tells people what he saw and how my so called father could not cope with my mum in hospital (so he said) and he even said that maggots were on a piece of meat in the oven once to well out of date in that bungalow!!!
Why didn’t you report things to the social services Steve ?
I suffered for a long time because you didn’t and looked after myself and my younger brother to washing clothes and everything and surviving just off the snack cupboard and out of cans of beans
Maybe you will tell your own version of events to somebody else !!

Have visited this cafe several times before and have always enjoyed food and being in the cafe. It has changed somewhat. Firstly, they are very well organized with the sales and queuing system. There was only one other couple waiting so we were served quickly. I ordered a brie and cranberry sandwich, which was given straight to me from a fridge. My husband ordered brie, bacon and cranberry ciabatta which was brought out after a couple of minutes. we also had two cups of tea so our total bill was just over £15. We sat in the actual inside cafe which used to be very pleasant but it seems like all decorations have been removed and it was freezing in there so you didn't want to linger, although maybe that was the idea. I took my sandwich out of the paper bag to find my sandwich wrapped in cling film looking anything but appetising. It just looked like a sandwich you would make at home and take for your packup. My husbands ciabatta however looked a lot better, so much so I wished I'd have chosen it. I know there is a pandemic going on but I, like a previous reviewer didn't find the food value for money. No presentation whatsoever. We definitely won't be returning any time soon.

We popped by for a bite to eat and a coffee after a visit to the garden centre today.
It’s a smooth and safe operation they have at Wistow Cafe Bistro.
Order and pay for your food and drinks, take your drink and cake, find a table and your food is bought out to you in no time at all.
We had coffee, tea, a beautiful Oreo cheesecake and some toasties, in fact the best cheese mix my husbands had he said. All of which were perfect. They came out within minutes of finding a table in their lovely warm conservatory. Perfect for those that are trying to keep a social distance and still enjoy a coffee with friends.
You’re doing a fabulous job in these difficult times Wistow.....

Probably my favourite cafe I've ever visited. The bacon, brie and cranberry ciabatta is out of this world - the yummiest treat! The seating area is very quaint and pretty surrounded by colourful flowers all year round. Was so pleased to see this cafe reopen following lockdown - they've really worked hard to make it COVID compliant too. Absolutely faultless as always!

We've been to Wistow a few times pre Covid and have always enjoyed the food. After seeing the afternoon tea advertised on their Facebook page, I arranged to collect one to takeaway for 6 people for an outdoor gathering of some work friends. Everyone was delighted with the food; lovely sandwiches, really fresh scones with cream and jam and two pieces of gorgeous cake (the coffee and walnut cake was declared the best ever by those who tried it!). A few days later I popped back with my partner for lunch and we had some really lovely toasties and we went back again yesterday for sandwiches. The covid system they have put in place is about the best I've seen so far. Clearly signposted entrance, lots of space to queue safely, sanitiser at the door and screens to protect everyone when being served. They've clearly worked hard on a system that allows them to serve customers as efficiently as possible. And the staff are always so friendly and polite. There are plenty of outdoor tables to choose from or nice views to take in nearby, if you want to eat in your car. We'll definitely be back as I'm all for supporting local businesses during this difficult time, especially when the food and service is top notch!

19 weeks in lockdown and still counting….
But we can leave the city! She Who Must Be Obeyed’s green fingers were itchy and needed palliation so off to Wistow we went. Once the planter’s itch had been relieved, our thoughts turned to lunch. It had been 19 long weeks since we last ate beyond our front door and the café looked promising: a ‘semi’ al-fresco, space, a clearly organised one way system, plenty of hand sanitiser (who thought that one way systems and sand sanitiser would ever feature in a food review?) and a menu of sandwiches – nothing exciting but after 19 weeks, who is quibbling. So, 2 coffees and 2 sandwiches and a comfy seat later…
We each had the bacon brie and cranberry ciabatta. They were an utter delight: fresh soft bread, piping hot perfectly and freshly cooked bacon, plenty of cheese and just enough cranberry. Enough to ‘sharpen’ the sandwich but not enough to make it sloppy. Perfect. The coffee was in a disposable mug which never improves anything but needs must.Perhaps our critical faculties were blunted the neglect of lockdown. I know that it would have been ‘nicer’ not to have been to be confronted by social distancing and reminded of the times in which we live. But it still was an excellent sandwich served by people who were making the best of what can be.
When we are back in Wistow we will make time for lunch.

I have visited wistow 3 or 4 times since lockdown has eased as our usual options for a lunch out have been closed and i have never experienced anything less than 5* service from such amazing staff. Their mexican truck has been such a treat i just wish they had longer opening hours! i really recommend their pulled pork burrito with chili jam:) the staff (on every occasion) wanted to help us and made me feel so safe and the system in place to order is so effective and yet really simple. I recommend visiting Wistow cafe to nearly all my friends and family and cant wait to come back again soon

Amazing service, such a smooth process and amazing breakfast. We came for a walk and wanted a coffee and bite to eat. The system was exceptional, staff were so polite and kind, Jane who owns the cafe was so accommodating and made sure we were catered for. Keep up the good work!

Such a smooth process during such a hard time. I can fully appreciate that things may take a little longer but when everything is so new it’s such a refreshing thing to have a nice experience. Food offerings are great considering these tough times and the coffee is the best around. Keep up the good work and thank you for such a great experience!

One of my favourite things to do is head out to one of my local cafes for coffee and cake. I visited Wistow Cafe Bistro last week to grab some cake from their takeaway menu. I went with the Lemon Drizzle for myself and a slice of Lemon & Blueberry cake for a friend. It was easily the best Lemon Drizzle I have ever tasted; just the right amount of lemon flavour and so moist. I don't mind admitting that I'm a bit fussy and picky, but I couldn't find anything to fault. My friend was equally impressed and gave the Lemon & Blueberry cake a 10/10. I also ordered their Tuna Crunch sarnie with cucumber, gherkin and capers, which was super tasty. Oh, and they do a pretty darn fine cup of coffee too! The cafe team are doing an amazing job of navigating the current COVID-19 situation and staff are friendly and helpful. So well done Wistow Cafe, keep up the good work!

We go to Wistow regularly and missed there cappuccinos and delish cakes over the beginning of lockdown. Since their return we have been so impressed by their work arounds and health and safety! Recently we have had a hectic time personally and they have treated us like family with their generosity. Would recomend them without a doubt!

We live local to Wistow and visit regularly. It is without doubt our favourite cafe in Leicestershire. They serve the best coffee I’ve had and the best bacon “butty” (it’s served on a soft, hot ciabatta - heaven) going.
My children are always badgering me to take them there for the amazing home made cakes which always go down a treat (try the lemon and blueberry or the carrot cake - mega!).
The setting is fabulous too with the garden centre next door for a wander round or just getting an ice cream and walking through the fields. It is a thoroughly relaxing place all together.
The service is excellent, you can tell they really do care about their customers.
Overall it is a must to visit, even if you’re not in the area make the trip out you won’t regret it. Plus in the summer months there’s the Maze over the road for a full on family day out.

Popped in for tea and cake whilst out for a walk - the staff were so friendly and the service was still brilliant despite the new restrictions in place. The cakes were so tasty and beautifully home made - my favourite was the coffee and walnut cake. Will definitely return!
