Had a lunchtime meal on Saturday, our first visit. The welcome was first class, great atmosphere, friendly staff, great service. Food was hot and really nicely presented. This is an excellent pub and we will definitely visit again. Thank you to all at the pub.

if your after an informal bite to eat and you're in the area I would definitely recommend this place
The service is great and it's a simple menu with good choices.
The gourmet burger was amazing and a must if you're a meat fan like me!

Had Sunday lunch here with my boyfriend: his first visit, and it didn't fail to impress. A beautiful scrubbed pine table with plenty of space for two, (and all the many plates of food we planned to order!) and a cosy spot next to the huge log burner which staff were happy to light upon request.
We enjoyed Welsh rarebit with a small mixed salad with Apple and cider dressing to start, followed by a gorgeous Sunday roast that just couldn't be faulted. Clearly homemade Yorkshire puds coupled with on-point pink beef, tender and succulent. Even though we didn't book til 3 we weren't rushed and had a delicious dessert and a pot of tea too. Every staff member made us feel welcome and the whole experience was the perfect English Sunday lunch. If you are making a decision between here and the Thornhill arms at Rushton - come here - loads more space for your elbows and time to enjoy a leisurely lunch without feeling rushed. I would recommend the Swan to everyone.

We have been to the Swan for our last three get togethers. This time we went for the full 4 course meal. Starters were great - the mussels were very tasty. For main course the Tiger Beer battered fish and chips. And for desert the cheese board. All very nice, with great beer and wine. I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting a great night out.

We were staying at Rushton Hall and were looking for somewhere to eat in the evening. We saw that this place had good reviews and decided to give it a try. So glad we did. It was a beautiful, cozy pub with great food and friendly staff. Really made our weekend!

We went out with friends for my dads birthday. Friendly welcome from the staff. Really good food and a nice break between courses. Didn't feel rush at any point. So impressed with the food we went back during the following week to try the lunch time sitting, wanted something that was not on the menu, served to me with no problem and of the same standard we received with the previous meal. would deffintily recommend The swan Inn

A very nice little Inn set in a nice village location. Plenty of parking so no driving for age to find a spot.
The menu is varied with a special 3 course offer during certain hours of the week. the food is extremely well cooked and presented, portions are of a good size. The staff are all extremely helpful and friendly. Very clean and a joy to visit

Overall a really lovely meal. The pub was busy and the staff were kind and polite. The Brie & mushroom starter was delightful. Main course I had the steak pie. This was lovely meal and the pie was tasty but it was just a shame the pie lid was so hard, I was unable to eat it without the risk of loosing a tooth. That was the only negative point. The menu had a great variety of lovely sounding dishes to choose from which was a massive improvement from last time I visit about a year ago. I will definately be returning sooner this time.

The Swan provided us with everything we needed for the perfect Sunday lunch in a beautiful 'village pub' environment. The Sunday menu is small but offers more than adequate options of roasts, grills and vegetarian options with a very reasonable price structure for the one- two- or three-course choice.
We decided to go for the main+pudding option, starting with a traditional roast beef with Yorkshire and vegetables. We were delighted to see that the plates were full to overflowing! There must have been six different vegetables with generous slices of beef and a crisp Yorkshire crowning the plate.
In fact, the main course was so generous that we felt glad we'd passed on the starter. Having thoroughly enjoyed our main course, we then realised that we couldn't do justice to the dessert menu either!
The welcome is friendly and the service smooth and efficient throughout.
The Swan is tucked away in a small village near Market Harborough but once you've found it, I'm pretty sure you'll return.

This is perhaps the most consistent restaurant in the area. We have eaten here on numerous occasions and have always had a good meal. This latest visit was no exception. We were a table of eight and had a mixture of staters ranging from bruschetta to soup. It was all delicious. For mains 3 of us had the pie of the day. Others had ribs or the lamb. Nobody was disappointed. Staff were great
We will return

Had never been before and got told how nice it was, kind of not expecting alot as it's valentines and a pub, when we arrived we were greeted by who I think must be the owner and we're shown to are table she was was welcoming and gave us a menu, which I have to say made us both smile and a little naughty laugh, we both had the down and dirty, which was a stunning sharing plate, and it was faultless we then has the beef romeo and chicken juliet both were amazing and so beautifully presented we then had a cheesecake and a lemon tart both were presented well, this wasn't pub food this was fine dining at its very best, everything was perfect I'm no critic but I know what good food is and this is excellent food, I can recommend this place enough you would be wrong not to eat here

Just come home from a loverly family meal to celebrate my sons birthday. we were welcomed and told to take our seats at table we booked. it was in a nice part of pub by window. place was fairly busy but did not feel over crowded just right with nice atmosphere. i found the staff very friendly and very good at their job. We were not kept waiting overly long. timing between meals was just right to feel we were not rushed just right. For starter i had whitebait served in little baskets very Moorish . I had the smoked haddock which was excellent. the rest of party had Roast beef and pork which was equally as good. For desert I had the strawberry cheese cake which was great. I have to say a very plesent dinning experience we will certainly be bringing more of our family along. I noted their is a open mic night on third sunday of the month so would like to give this a try. would certainly recommend this good value for money pub/resturant only £18-95 for three courses or £14 ish for two courses bargin for such good food.

After one or two disappointing meals at other local restaurants it was nice to come back to a tried and trusted pub. The food was faultless and the service was friendly and efficient. A good range of well kept beers capped off an enjoyable evening.

From pulling up out side this chocolate box pub to leaving nothing was less than 110%. The staff are fantastic as is the food. Hot ample portions both mains and sweets with a good selection of "ales". Toilets spotless. Nothing was to much trouble. Fantastic village pub.

We went for a meal here on the 20th December. We were staying in the area and rang a couple of hours before we were going out to make a reservation and they were very accomodating and managed to get us a table. The pub was lovely, very festive with lots of twinkly lights which made for a lovely atmosphere. The food was wonderful. I had a starter of bread and olives and my husband had the pate which were both delicious. I had chicken wrapped in ham for main course and my husband had a pie filled with pork, stuffing and apple sauce again both delicious and served by delightful, happy and enthusiastic staff. Made our weekend away that little bit nicer and would definitely return.

I came here with my Girlfriend around October 2014 and had a lovely meal here.
We decided to book again on Christmas Eve 2014.Originally we booked a table for 2 , then changed it to 4 as family were visiting us from Australia.
They had to cancel last minute so we changed this with the staff at the Swan and they were very understanding. We went alone, the place as we entered had a lovely atmosphere and was very pleasing on the eye.
The friendly staff showed us to our table in the restaurant, which was quite a bit quieter and was easier to have a conversation in.The lovely waitress( Laura ) took our order, cleverly and discretely up selling our order to include the daily special starters. She was very friendly and let us choose things that weren't on the menu( garlic bread ), and gave us great advice regarding the food that she had tried herself and generally helped us decide what to eat. She was very patient too, nothing was any trouble, which made our experience much nicer.
I had the soup of the day ( tomato and spinach ) which was delicious. We also ordered our main courses ( I had the 8oz sirloin steak and my girlfriend had the gourmet burger) and when the arrived, they were equally delicious.
Everything about the food was excellent.I had a glass of Red Shiraz with my starter, but I fancied something a little fruitier and richer with my main course, so another fine lady from behind the bar
brought me over quite a good sample in a fresh glass to try, which was Rioja I believe.I agreed to the lovely taste and I expected her to leave me with the glass but she brought me another large glass full of the new wine, which I thought was a very decent gesture of goodwill indeed and I was suitably impressed.
In fact all of the waitresses were very attentive, asking if we needed anything regularly but not intrusively. We finished our meals and there was never any rush for us to leave, we were brought the desert menus but we were too full by then anyway.
Although again, the lovely waitress Laura cleverly asked my girlfriend if she wanted a coffee instead and this was exactly what she was thinking so agreed happily. The coffee was very satisfying, according to my girlfriend. After our meal was over and we were chatting to Laura, she told us about a function on New Years Eve and invited us to attend, explaining the details and showing us the flyer from the bar area regarding the entertainment on the night.
We felt very welcome to return and we were glad we booked a table at this lovely English country pub.
Overall 10/10
In summary ,Excellent food, Lovely surroundings, Fair prices and Exceptional service!!

We have been to the Swan for our last two get togethers. The food is excellent - go for the House Pie! The ambiance and service is great and the pub has a large garden. An excellent choice for all occasions.

A lovely, cosy pub with fantastic food. Service was great and there was a great range of pub favourites and interesting variations. Watch your head if you are on the tall side, but the low ceilings add to the warm and intimate feel of the place. Will visit again!

I met with a girlfriend at this stylish country pub, for our bi monthly catch up. We started off with a small glass of house Sauvignon which was far superior than most Pub offerings. We then both chose fresh haddock from the main menu, which was cooked to perfection it was encased in a light batter and was served with chunky chips and mushy peas, we followed this with a delicious slice of Baileys Cheesecake and a Steamed Syrup Sponge with custard. A nice pot of tea and a latte finished off our lunch and conversation. We normally meet in Market Harborough but we found the ambiance, food and service so good here we have decided to meet here again.
