If you are lucky enough to have discovered the delightful 'Red Lion Pub' in Thornby, Northamptonshire, you will likely be telling others about this little gem for years to come.
Stop Press! - Nov.'19:
We are delighted to congratulate Simon & Louise Cottle on WINNING the ‘Community Pub of the Year’ in the Carlsberg UK Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards 2019/20:
It's a charming independent country pub with a 400 year history, serving excellent food and a wide selection of beers, wines and spirits, and with its superb barn accommodation and family garden, we consider it to rival any pub in the area for quality, character and service.
Managed by owners Simon and Louise Cottle, the pub attracts all local residents and many from further afield, having been described as the 'village living room' with its cosy atmosphere and social ambience.
Simon describes the food as 'simple and honest', but maintaining a standard to leave all others stranded. Using fresh ingredients from carefully selected local producers ensures consistent quality, and then to finish off, satisfied customers are offered a cup of exquisite freshly ground Carrera coffee - just perfect.
Fresh home cooked food is available lunchtimes and evenings with the Red Lion Sunday lunches being a particular favourite.

A pub's reputation is often defined by its range and quality of beer. Well, The Red Lion has that covered by offering an ever changing selection of real ales with up to 6 hand pulls, supporting both local breweries and some of the best national ales on offer in the UK.
Supported by an equally impressive range of artisan gins and ciders, and carefully selected wines from respected local merchant Duncan Murray Wines, The Red Lion leads the way in both quality and variety to accommodate all its customers.
Character Barn Accommodation:

Very nice food. Exceptional service and bar staff. Never have to wait to be served. Always served with a smile, especially Pete.
Great food, great service (from Charlotte). The best village pub around. Staff are always friendly and always interact with customers.
Always great food, always great staff.
Excellent service from waiting staff, cheerful, nothing too much trouble. We had Sunday lunch - beef and lamb. Both meals superb, best we've tasted for miles around.
