Another lovely country pub/Inn, host was lovely and friendly on check-in.
The room was nice and clean, very comfortable.
There is no carpark but plenty on the street next to the pub.
There is no phone signal at all, but the free Internet was good and strong, so I was able to make calls.

I went to Rick Stein’s Barnes restaurant in January and had the sea bass. This was just as tasty but less than half the price.

Absolutely charming traditional country pub with well equipped, comfortable, cosy rooms adjacent.. The food is excellent and good value, and the staff are all friendly and helpful. The traditional breakfast is particularly good. Highly recommended.

Went here for the first time as a family after swimming for a Sunday roast. My girls had never tried beef before but all I can say it was the best tastiest beef I had ever had on a roast and our girls loved it. Will be calling again thankyou

So I found it to be a nice little guesthouse. The rooms are a bit small, but very comfortable. The food there was super delicious. I can recommend the steak and eggs with minced meat to everyone. 👌Rooms: 4/5  |  Service: 4/5  |  Location: 3/5

First visit certainly not our last. Lovely menu landlady and landlord made us so welcome and on his words a country pub. In saying that the food was more than pub grub. Will be back again very soon.

When you find a gem you want to keep it to yourself but this would be selfish and The George at Ashley deserves better. It is a real find with such friendly, knowledgeable and polite staff. We really appreciated the warm welcome we received. Our room was excellent, beautifully furnished with an excellent en-suite and everything was immaculately clean.
The food menu is imaginative, competitively priced and the standard of the meals is outstanding. How we envy the local community as they have a gem on their doorstep, please don't let it go the way of lots of village pubs.
Although we live an hour away we shall definitely return again and again.Thank you all so much.
A true gem.

Nice pub, mostly taken over with tables for eating but it is still possible to just have drinks. A few real ales on - which is good. The landlady was very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, very tasty and not expensive either. Don't expect huge portion, but very good value for money.

A lovely little historic pub in the delightful countryside Cotswold-esq village of Ashley. This was our first visit altogether, and we opted for the Tuesday pie night! The service was excellent throughout - attentive, friendly and with a smile by the lady who served us, possibly called Dominee, she was brilliant. The food was hot and extremely tasty and it was nice that a drink was included with the food price. If I have one criticism, it is that the pie was too small and it would have been nice to have a choice of vegetables with the food, rather than only a small amount of peas at the price charged. Apart from that, we were very pleased and I would definitely visit again. Thank you.

Great hosts, fabulous breakfasts and evening meals. The hosts and the team running the restaurant and bar were lovely. The room was well equipped with a coffee machine and kettle for making a large selection of hot drinks. Bottled water was also provided. The bathroom was recently updated and clean and tidy. Excellent shower. Bedroom was really comfortable and nicely decorated. Very cosy rooms within the old stable block. Nice Timothy Taylor Boltmaker beer!! Difficult to find fault here, but if I were hyper critical, I’d say the bath towels were slightly too small.
