Steve Parks Driving Tuition
A Highly Recommended Driving School in Market Harborough
Qualified as a DVSA ADI (Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor) in 2004, Steve Parks initially worked as a franchisee with the AA Driving School. In 2007, based locally in Market Harborough, he decided to branch out and 'go it alone' due to receiving virtually all clients via previous customer referrals.
Previously Steve worked for an Automotive Supplier in Corby, near Market Harborough, as Quality Manager where he was responsible for all aspects of quality including liaising with customers and suppliers and training of the workforce to the required standards.
"Steve is a great instructor, very calm and patient helps with any issues and is very thorough with everything. Can't recommend enough!" Josh V - April 2017
Learning to drive is an exciting time and Steve tries to make the experience both enjoyable and very much a two-way process. The training requirements are decided from the outset, whether that is a full course for a new driver (which may include theory test coaching if required), through to post test tuition such as the DVSA recognised Pass Plus initiative. This gives clients further experience once their initial test is passed especially on Motorways amongst other situations. These requirements are continually assessed and training adjusted as required.
"Last week my twin girls passed their respective driving tests ... phew! Steve has worked with them both over recent months to become proficient and more importantly for them, confident drivers. I feel safe with them both now and much of that is due to Steve and his patient, constructive coaching style. Thanks Steve!" Susan D - Oct. '16
A typical course would begin with an explanation of the car controls and moving off and stopping. Then confidence would be gained on quiet local estates and then travelling further a field to take in the areas where the client will be taking their driving test (currently Kettering). The clients are kept informed of their progress following each lesson and are given an appointment and progress record card to bring to each driving lesson. Finally the Practical Test is taken in the training car.
Driving lessons can be booked Monday - Friday (subject to availability) and are usually 2 hours (as 2 hour lessons give the best value in terms of reduced learning hours). Longer driving lessons can be undertaken, if required, for example travelling further a field on the motorway.
Discounted rates are available for block bookings of 12 hours.
Pick up and drop off locations are also as required by the client, which could be from their school, home or workplace.
The tuition car is air conditioned and is replaced on a regular basis.
"Steve was an excellent driving instructor, he was very organised and calm. I learnt to drive quickly but never felt rushed or pressured to anything I wasn't confident enough to do. He used many different methods of teaching which helped to learn manoeuvres quickly. I passed first time after 5 months!" Escher L
