The process of submitting a planning application for a simple single garage quickly became very stressful due to conflicting information on the planning portal and a lack of clarity from the local planning authority. Our application was rejected and we were given a deadline to submit further information that we didn't understand. This added to the stress as we just didn't know what to do to progress the application.<br><br>As soon as I contacted Tim at Jed design he quickly explained everything. He is really approachable, and friendly and put us at ease immediately. He understood exactly what type and style of garage I wanted and within two weeks he'd made a set of perfect drawings and returned all the relevant paperwork to the council and the application was promptly registered. We felt an enormous sense of relief. He was very happy to act as our agent too and our project was approved just within the council's self imposed eight week approval deadline.<br><br>We wouldn't hesitate to recommend his services. Thank you Tim for an amazing job.

Tim provided a great service. I contacted him to draw up plans for an external extension to my house. He was highly consultative, offered lots of creative thinking using space to the optimum and challenging conventions. Pushed my ideas and got me to consider much better alternatives but still incorporated the lifestyle choices I had detailed to him. By re designing the internal space the result was excellent and the objective achieved. It was also so much more adventurous and interesting than an extension.

We have been working with Tim on our house extension for the past few months. Tim is highly knowledgeable and has been patient with us throughout the process so far answering all our questions and enabling us to understand each step that we need to take. Tim replied to my enquiry immediately and was able to accommodate a visit to the property at a time that suited me.
He arrived at the date/time that we'd agreed and took the time to listen to what I needed and to look over the property as a whole.
Tim was immediately easy to talk with and appeared genuinely interested in the building and its history.
The plans I ordered were delivered to me ahead of time.
I have further work planned for next year and will definitely be approaching Tim again for his professional and personable service.

I have known Tim Bale ( The owner of JED (Architectural services) Ltd since 1994! During our 30 year association, I have known Tim to be a VERY hard and conscientious and methodical worker.
Tim always acts in a calm way, even when things seem to be against a planning application, he just has this knack of finding out from local planning authorities, of the best way forward to appease the client and the 'said planning department' of their fears.
Tim has built up a very solid reputation to his approach to specific design requirements and the challenges that may manifest along the design and planning journey. He has done various tasks for my Partner and I , which has included a fairly large kitchen extension on a 1920's period property which ended up looking as if it had been there since the house was first constructed!! I feel that is a testament to his skill and knowledge of design!
Tim was also instrumental in my partner and I obtaining planning permission to build a 2 bedroom house on a corner plot, which eventually went to a third appeal to an external inspector , after our local authority TWICE turned down our planning application. This I feel shows Tim's tenacity in persuing an Ideal that he feels has been unfairly judged, especially after being given assurances from a local authority that the ammendments needed for success had been achieved, To sum up, If you are seeking a professional Architect that goes that extra mile to try to achieve your dreams, then look no further!

Tim’s been a great guide along the way of our house planning process, he has kept us steady when we’ve wanted to jump ahead.
