ICON has been a client of the Harborough Innovation Centre (part of Oxford Innovation) for the past 16 months. It has been the best move the company has made, not only benefitting us financially, but also reduced our administration and freed us to concentrate on our business. The Centre's management team are fantastically supportive and maintain a high standard within the building and the business development consultancy offered has helped us to focus on our own business aims for future growth.

The team at HIC provide a great business environment that allows all the businesses within the building to achieve their best. Their staff provide and support fantastic facilities that enable businesses to portray a professional image and the help of the team is fantastic in all areas of the business from catering, secretarial, reception right through to ‘agony aunt’ services! They really are a fully functioning part of every business within the centre and provide an enthusiastic and forward-thinking support service for us all.

Being here means I can concentrate on the business rather than on the practicalities of running an office. We are very busy and being here saves time and money. We no longer have to deal with the gas man or sort out phone faults. We have a professional image, great facilities, centre staff to look after the building and the company of other like minded businesses. Only being tied into a one month contract is also a huge plus.

It was visiting the innovation centre for the first time that spurred us on to join forces and set up this company. We were both looking for a new challenge and have complementary skills and the timing seemed perfect. Seeing the lovely building, facilities and knowing that we would be working alongside a potential 50 plus other businesses, who would also all become potential customers, sealed the deal.

Moving into the Centre has helped make us more efficient, more productive and that has helped the bottom line. We pay for what we use, outsource our IT and the Centre’s serviced offices mean we can concentrate totally on our work and on developing the business, rather then worry about utility bills, answering sales calls or changing light bulbs. We recently recruited a new staff member in order to develop a new arm to our business and, despite the recession, we are thriving.

We didn’t expect to be looking for offices or recruiting for at least another year but business has really taken off so we needed to step out of our homes and make the move into professional offices. Being here is more than having an office, it’s about being part of a thriving community.
