Get ready to celebrate 50 years of Hip Hop. Manchester is the second stop of their epic 5-city tour on 14th April 2024

IP HOP PAINT PARTY.

This will be delivered by Hip Hop visual artist Sal Freckles + Jay the Creator from Seduced by Art - who are part of our touring team.

Attendees will be guided through the process of creating a Hip Hop inspired work of art using acrylic paint on stretched canvas. The Seduced by Art team will be on hand throughout to assist you, and the best part is you get to take it home at no extra cost! We hope to attract a diverse audience who love art and wish to explore their creativity on the day. Sal Freckles and her team will provide an initial idea, but the piece will lend itself to a certain amount of adaptation, so it becomes more personal. The art session will also have a live DJ spinning Hip-Hop music throughout the session to give you a party vibe - clean versions of course as - a younger crowd may be present! Delivery Time 2 Hours.

RESPECT THE DJ (PANEL DISCUSSION & WORKSHOP).

This panel will be hosted by Cutmaster Swift (DMC World Champion/ 4 Times UK Champion). He will be joined by an esteemed lineup of credible DJs and a Vinyl Battle DJ exhibition from DJ Woody (UK ITF Champion) who will be performing a specially curated set on the day. The panel will discuss current topical talking points regarding DJ technology like Serato, button pressing, music files, practicing tips, competition routines, club DJ sets, radio presenting, self-promotion, and the use of social media. The session also has a workshop section, where hands-on experience can be gained, from basic mixing to more advanced scratch techniques on Technics turntables & controllers. Delivery Time 2 Hours.

HIP HOP (A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE).

This is a panel discussion hosted by DJ Pogo about the origins of the culture in the city and the UK. Generally, these discussions focus on artists who rose to fame. This discussion, however, aims to give a real insight into and what it was like in the late '70s & '80s, as well as the business ideas behind the building of the Hip Hop movement this will certainly create fascinating conversation. Zak the founder of LWR Radio (who is part of our touring team), started one of the earliest pirate radio stations in London. LWR's popularity was so influential Capital Radio (London) tried to buy it from him. His station helped to popularise Black Music in London. LWR was also a very early adopter of Hip Hop Culture, giving Derek B (RIP), Tim Westwood, and Richie Rich their starts in radio broadcasting. His story is incredible and has never been told in Hip Hop circles. Key people from each city will join the conversations to get more depth & "A different perspective" Delivery time 90 Mins.

SO, YOU'RE A RAPPER?

This panel will be hosted by Funky DL (who is part of our touring team) Funky DL is a former MOBO winner & current Music Production Awards nominee 2023). He has masterfully produced, rapped, and released more than 20 albums independently through his label, acquiring millions of streams in the process.

Special guest speakers on the panel will discuss the art of rap, song concepts, approaches to writing, industry dos & don'ts, and taking responsibility for what you say in your songs to name just a few. Funky DL will be joined by David JThe Pugilist (who is also part of our touring team) who will be performing a spoken word piece. Delivery time 90 Mins.

LET'S DANCE.

This is a fun 90-minute dance session hosted by Sam Samurai & Poppin Jutsu (who are part of our touring team) will cover Street Dance, Poppin, Locking and Top Rock Breakdance moves. This is an opportunity to dance and learn from the best. The session will include a live DJ to set the mood for the various dance elements. BEATBOX.

An experienced Beatboxer will be performing during session breaks, detailing how the different sounds are created. The ability to make bass sounds, percussion, and even sound effects is crucial for any beatbox artist.
