Local community groups can apply for small grants of up to £500 under the Loughborough Building Society's "Community Matters" scheme, according to local MP Andy Reed. The awards panel meets 3 times per year and a total of £2500 can be distributed each time. Any local group can apply whether or not they are a registered charity; previous recipients of these useful funds include All Saints Church, Shepshed Dolphin Swimming Group and Girlguiding Loughborough Division for example.
