The location of the cathedral is stunning, and the famous three spires are a landmark for miles around. Inside, the cathedral is a feast for the eyes and the spirit, a marvel of soaring gothic architecture.

When I used to work for a company that specialised in car leasing in Lichfield, it was a joy to take a walk around the town. I have now been at least a dozen times to the Cathedral and worth visiting.

I do not visit Lichfield Cathedral on a regular basis as we live round the corner!! I have sung in a choir there and I often go to hear various grandchidren perform with their respective schools.

I visited Lincoln Cathedral with friends. This beautiful building is located in a pleasant 'Close' with a Shop, Café and Erasmus Darwin's (Separate Attraction) dotted about in different buildings. Before entering the Cathedral do take note of the fantastic statues above the entrance of the Kings of England!
Inside, a warm welcome awaits with one of the Stewards who promptly greeted us and gave us information about the main sights to see around the building. Like most Cathedrals, it is important to look in all directions to see the various carvings, statues and decorations. Lichfield is famous for being home to the Staffordshire Hoard but, at the time of visiting, it was not on show as additional research was being done on it. Their is also a two-tiered chapterhouse with Library tours available at certain times of the year on the second floor. It's a shame that Lichfield has no Tower Tour at present but I was informed that this may be re-introduced at some point.
For a free attraction, Lichfield Cathedral is a must if you happen to be visiting the area. The Cathedral Coffee Shop is also worth a quick stop for some nice cake and a drink to!
