We visited whilst on holiday...What a beautiful building. Firstly my family and I thought the outside was wonderful and then when we went inside we were speechless. Staff very knowledgeable and even our sons (14&11yrs) found it so interesting looking at the old relics that had been found locally. They enjoyed doing a brass rubbing to take home. Beautiful shop directly opposite from the entrance. Lovey lady working in there too. As a family we feel blessed to have visited.........

My partner her mum and I recently visited Lichfield Cathedral in August on a lovely summers day.

Lichfield Cathedral is such a magnificent building with a unique and fascinating history to it, the volunteers who work here are extremely knowledgeable and so approachable.

There is a lovely gift shop opposite the Cathedral and a wonderful coffee shop adjacent to the church called chapters, we hope to visit the Cathedral during the xmas period when the Cathedral will be decorated for the xmas services.

What a find! We weren't expecting the lovely atmosphere as well as a history lesson. The building itself is most impressive but inside it didn't feel austere but warm. In one of the chapels had been placed St Chad's gospel - the oldest still in use (I hope I recall that right!). There was a screen on which my daughter could digitally flick through pages of the gospel and look at the illuminated script. Also here were replicas from the Staffordshire Hoard. The lady on duty was really informative about how the cloisonne pieces were made. If we'd got ourselves organised, we could have stayed for Sunday afternoon evensong.

Wonderful building full of fantastic artefacts, especially in the Lady Chapel. Free entry but they charmingly extract a contribution, well worth it.

Wonderful park for children, adults and dogs. Nature walk, great children's play area, crazy golf and pitch and put. Also go carts and bouncy castles in the summer. There are also special events in the summer. Just a great facility for the City.

This is a must see if you ever visit Lichfield. Free entry but you can make a donation as it cost around £8000 per day for the upkeep of this wonderful Cathedral. You don't realise its size and beauty until you enter. The inside of this Cathedral is as magnificent inside as it is outside.

A group of us went to have a look around - so well preserved and very well cared for. The façade is incredible with all the saints, kings and angels statues - if you are in the area it is well worth a visit.

The cathedral in Lichfield is constantly changing, it is a true tourist attraction. the Shop at Number 9 can provide information on ticketed events and the coffee houses on the outskirts of the cloisters are affordable and convenient.

The cathedral itself is well maintained and has lots of history and things to see. if you are in the area its worth taking a small detour to spend 30 - 60 min exploring the inside.

they hold numerous events over the course of the year which are published on the website and worth incorporating into your visit if you can.

I hadn't even heard of Lichfield cathedral until last Christmas and that is criminal! It is richly exquisite, inside and out. I particularly liked that there was actual worship going on, it is a Christian cathedral in use rather than "a pretty building". In fact I liked it so much I went back and gave them my entrance donation (no set fee) again at the end. In the chapter house the Anglo-Saxon artefacts are just amazing - 1300 year old gospel, anyone?
