I had never visited Litchfield before, until today. When my eyes gazed upon Litchfield Cathedral... my goodness! As you make your way towards this place, you begin to see just how magnificent it truly is, an impressive show of medieval craftsmanship and architecture. And to think that this massive structure, built between the early 13th and 14th centuries, came about without the use of the tools and equipment we have today. It is an absolute feat to say the least!
Heading inside through the huge doorway, we were greeted by a very friendly lady. There is no charge for entry into the cathedral, although a donation is welcomed. Honestly it was worth it, because getting to see the inside of this place was breathtaking. You get to see just how magnificent a building this actually is, all the work and time and effort that was put into its creation. And still, after all these years, it remains a reminder of a time long gone but not forgotten.
Be sure not to rush when looking around the inside of the cathedral. Take it all in, enjoy the peace and serenity. Light a candle for a loved one, if you so wish, admire the gorgeous stained glass windows and be sure not to forget the lovely gift shop too before you depart. I can say, that I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and very much look forward to visiting again in the future. Definitely a MUST if you're spending the day in Litchfield, not to be missed!

We attended an evening concert here. It was Rachmaninoff's vespers performed by Ex Cathedra.
My wife (Russian) could hear the words in Russian i just followed the beautiful sound, bravo to the choir, it must have taken alot of hard rehearsal practice.
One tip, take a cushion, the chairs are designed to keep you awake.
