Visited on a sunny afternoon. Very peaceful, but came to life hen a planned wedding took place in the Chancel. It was good to see the Cathedral in operation! Lots of things to see in the Cathedral. Don't miss the wonderful stained glass in the Lady Chapel, the amazing Chapter House with the St.Chad gospels, and exhibits from the Staffordshire Hoard. Lots of other fine old tombs, window, sculptures. Do walk around the Cathedral Close and enjoy the green environment.

As I've got family connections to the Lichfield area, I've wanted to visit the city and Cathedral for a long time. We had a very warm welcome on arrival and volunteers around the cathedral were friendly and happy to chat. We visited in the morning on a sunny day so managed to get some lovely photos, however you might get better results with stained glass windows late afternoon or on a dull day. There is a small Staffordshire Hoard exhibition in the Chapter House which is very interesting.
There is no charge for admission to the Cathedral, but donations are encouraged.
There are various car parks around the city. We parked in the Bird Street car park which is about five minutes walk from the Cathedral, so very convenient.
Definitely a place to visit if you are in the Lichfield area!

This Cathedral is stunning. Donations are requested to contribute to the running costs. The guides are helpful and when we went we saw some of the "Staffordshire Hoard" in an exhibition. It's a very special place to visit in the heart of Lichfield city. This is suitable for all ages. My son was given a children's guide which was informative for his age group.

Excellent system of entry and track and trace. Extremely helpful staff giving advice, and information.
