All Cathedrals are really much the same, and this falls in to this bracket. Having wandered around a lot of them you get used to seeing amazing stuff that is very old, and that is all wrong really as each one is, like this, an amazing space when you consider how old they are.
Anyway, as there is no charge to get in your cannot go wrong (we always make a donation).

A lovely cathedral with a fascinating history. The Chapter House contains one of the oldest books in Britain, the St Chad bible from 730 AD.

In the several years since I last visited Lichfield Cathedral, I'd forgotten just how impressive it is. Sitting above the picturesque Minster Pool, the three sandstone spires dominate the Cathedral Close and the city below. Its interior is equally grand and was surprisingly quiet when we were there allowing for unhurried enjoyment of its architecture, stained glass and other treasures. Highlights for us were the Chapter House and the unusual St Chad's Head Chapel accessed by a staircase from the south choir aisle.

Outstanding cathedral! It has got tower tours, so don't miss it, as it is quite good tour. Also, it is very unusual cathedral, I never seen anything like this before!
They have got a very good choir- pleasant to listen.
And I would ask people to kindly donate (at least a pound), this would keep our cathedrals 'going'.
Also, I have been there for a concert- no words- amazing! It was a Seth Leikeman concert. Wow, wow, wow!
